Looking back at the two years previous Elimination Chambers….
2017: Womens title upset as Naomi +205 defeated Alexa Bliss. +120 Becky Lynch beat Mickie James. +135 Apollo Crews/Kallisto beat Dolph Ziggler. Other favourites won except Nikki/Natalya which went to a double countout.
2018: All favourites won. All were heavily favoured with Matt Hardy -265 to beat Bray at the lowest.
Interestingly in 2015 the +190 Nikki Bella and the +150 Kevin Owens both won. That one also saw the +900 Ryback win the Elimination Chamber and Intercontinental Title.
Womens Tag Team Match: Highly conflicted here. In one side I can see Bayley/Sasha winning it because it’s the first tag team titles for the women and that can be an important moment, but I could also see them wanting to get a heel team over, and then having Bayley/Sasha win at Mania. But this one is basic math. I really feel it is 50/50 and could go either way, so we’ll back The Field to win the elimination chamber as their odds mean value. 1/2u at +130.
The Miz/Shane (-320) vs The Usos (+240) Tough to see Miz/Shane losing as there’s still a story to tell. That Uso arrest might cause issues too. HOWEVER they are facing one of the best tag teams in the WWE and I could see Miz/Shane retaining via DQ or something. Or maybe they want to see them self combust here. They did defeat the Bar but I’ll do a small 1/4u on the Usos to win.
Daniel Bryan (-570) vs AJ Styles (+1280) vs Randy Orton (+1400) vs Samoa Joe (+1400) vs Kofi Kingston (+1600) vs Jeff Hardy (+2400): Loved what they did with Kofi on Smackdown – really built him up. It shows how in WWE they really can build someone out of nowhere and make them a contender. It’s just hard to see them take it away from Bryan. I think Kofi ends up being the last man with him and comes close to winning but Bryan wins via underhanded means. Especially if Harper comes back and joins them – nice and easy matches there with New Day and those three. No bet.
Buddy Murphy (-750) vs Akira Tozawa (+450) Just see no reason for them to take it off Murphy.
Ronda Rousey (-4500) vs Ruby Riott (+1500): Not worth betting.
Lashley/Rush (-145) vs Finn Balor (+105) I mean the most obvious thing here is that WWE want to get the title on Finn Balor and do that by having Lio Rush pinned. Things like that are just booking 101 and it protects Lashley and can lead to a match between Lashley and Finn at Fastlane or whatever. It’s so odd they are making this match a handicap match already – really makes no sense in booking lore but that’s WWE for ya. I feel like I’m trying to outthink myself here – we’ll go with 1/2u on Finn Balor.
Braun Strowman (-320) vs Baron Corbin (+240): Strowman wins I expect but with the possibility of Drew interfering (Meltzer threw out a theory that it leads to Strowman vs Drew/Baron) I don’t think it’s worth a play.
