AEW Full Gear takes place on Saturday, November 9th. It hails from Baltimore, Maryland.
This will be the 5th PPV under the AEW Umbrella, although the first one since All Elite Wrestling got a TV deal.
It’s an absolutely stacked card from top to bottom. We’ve got the main event for the AEW World Championship featuring the youngest ever AEW World Champion, Chris Jericho, going up against Cody. Cody will never challenge for the Championship if he loses. Big stipulation that.
Kenny Omega also takes on Jon Moxley in a non-sactioned Lights Out match which I believe will be going on last. That will be a heck of a match. Then we’ve got The Bucks vs the Street Thug and the Ruffian, as well as Adam Page vs Pac.
Before we pop into the tips, let’s check out the betting odds:
Americans: Place your AEW Full Gear Bets at 5Dimes. You will have to register an account to see the odds which will be listed under the “Other Sports” section. Their odds will be added Friday.
Everyone Else: The best place to bet AEW by far is 888 Sports. Not only can you bet on AEW there but you can bet on various prop bets such as who the over/under star rating on a match and various props releated to the match.
In the world tag team match for example, you can bet on which participant concedes defeat.
Chris Jericho (-295) vs Cody (+200): An interesting match for sure. A big theory is that MJF will turn heel on Cody but for me that is waaaay too early as that relationship hasn’t been built up yet. I could see him causing Cody the win “accidently” – be it throwing in the towel or a DQ or messing up and giving Jericho a chair instead of him etc. Build the story more. But can’t see a full on turn. As for the match itself? A lot of people think Cody wins by DQ but AEW doesn’t want to do DQs and with Jericho winning the tag match on the last AEW Dynamite, I like him to keep the unbeaten streak going. No bet but Jericho even at -295 is tempting.
Cody however is an excellent work and Dave Meltzer loves him (look at that ridiculous star rating he gave the Bucks vs Rhodes match) so if you live outside of the USA, I’d advise betting Over 4.25 stars at 888 for 1u.
Jon Moxley (-230) vs Kenny Omega (+160): Interesting one. If this was a regular match I’d say no bet as they are going to wanting to protect “Stone Cold” Mox. However the fact that it’s unsanctioned and the win/loss “doesn’t count” makes it interesting. I still think Mox wins, but that stipulation and the emphasis on the win/loss not counting is enough for me to bet 1/4u on Kenny Omega to win.
Socal Uncensored (-143) vs Lucha Brothers (+150) vs Private Party (+430): I’d be surprised if SCU don’t win here. Can’t really argue for the other two teams as I mean they JUST won the titles. 1u on SCU.
PAC (-177) vs Adam “Hangman” Page (+125) 3 weeks ago I would have no idea honestly. I’d lean Pac with the way he treats wins/losses as very important, as seen in that tag match involving Mox. However two things lead me to take Hangman Page. One is Pac already got a win over Omega and has a 3-0-1 singles record. Hangman Page is batting .500 so a win is more important for him.
Second – “Cowboy Shit”. Page happened to yell that during his promo and it’s completely changed him. Funny how one little catchphrase can get someone over so much more. I think AEW jump behind that and push Page strongly. Oh PLUS he did the J-O-B on Dynamite and if you know wrestling, you know what that usually means. 1u on Hangman Page
Santana & Ortiz (-250) vs The Young Bucks (+175) I see people thinking that Santana & Ortiz need the win to establish them. I get that. If this is going to be a long term program it may make sense for the heels to win too. But I think there is a lot of reasons for the Bucks to get the win here and it makes this one worth a play. 1/4u on the Bucks to win.
Shawn Spears (-250) vs Joey Janela (+175): They seem to be building Spears and he’s the type of old school heel they need. Interestingly I could see Joey winning as I feel he has been getting over a lot more. Wouldn’t surprise me if he won but no bet.
Riho (-275) vs Emi Sakura (+200): Riho just seems like the cornerstone of the Womens division right now. Best keep the title on her. No bet.
Bea Priestley (-118) vs Britt Baker (-118): If you’ve been watching AEW Dynamite which one of these girls do you know best? Easily Britt Baker right? They have pushed her so much more. DID YOU KNOW SHE IS A DENTIST? Of course you freaking did. She’s had 6 matches to just 3 for Bea overall so far on AEW. I COULD see Bea winning to help establish her. But with wrestling betting you sometimes have to go with the obvious. 1u on Britt Baker.
