Bet on CM Punk’s First Opponent in AEW

With rumours of CM Punk signing with All Elite Wrestling, the online sportsbook BetOnline has decided to set up a betting market for who his first opponents will be.

Based on AEW TV, we will see the debut of CM Punk at the second AEW Rampage show.

This will take place on Friday, August 20th, and is in the hometown of CM Punk, Chicago.

Currently it is a short list of just 9 wrestlers.

It’s possible they will add others on request.

Here are the current betting odds for who CM Punks first opponent will be:

Darby Allin: +100
Daniel Bryan: +200
Christian Cage: +320
Orange Cassidy: +600
Matt Hardy: +700
Chris Jericho: +800
Cody Rhodes: +800
Jungle Boy: +900
Sting: +1000

August 3rd Odds Changes: Darby Allin moved from +200 to +100. Christian moved from +300 to +325. Orange Cassidy moved from +500 to +600. Chris Jerico and Cody Rhodes move from +700 to +800.

Personally, I would go with Darby Allin.

Darby essentially called him out on the most recent Dynamite. It seems like a great match for CM Punk to first have. Darby can take a loss, is a big star, and is a terrific worker.

Even if Punk has a bit of rust, Darby will make him look good.

Daniel Bryan being favourite is just silly to me. Of this betting market, there are no real heels on this list other than Matt Hardy and that isn’t happening.

So I would suggest a bet on Darby Allin. I’ll personally be doing 1/2u on it myself.
