New Japan Cup 2020 Betting Tips

The NJPW Cup 2020 is underway with three days having passed since it began, and we are able to see betting markets for it.

I thought I would have a quick look through and see if there is anything worth betting or tipping.

Initially the only thing you could bet on is Kota Ibushi vs Zack Sabre Jr. However I just just updated my NJPW Cup 2020 Betting Odds article listing some of the other things you can now bet on.

There is a wide variety of bets related to the New Japan Cup 2020 and what you can bet on it.

You can bet on individual matchces, bets related to the brackets, and of course who the tournament winner will be.

I thought I would have a look at all of the betting options available and see if there is any betting tips worth making.

Let’s get to it:

New Japan Cup 2020 Betting Tips:

While I had no betting tips related to it, I was slightly surprised at SHO defeating Shingo Takagi. I had Shingo written in pencil to win that bout. I love Shingo too but that was definitely one where there wasn’t a real obvious winner.

All of the individual match bets have heavy favourites. Tomohiro Ishii is 1.34 to defeat Togi Makabe for example, and SANADA is 1.16 odds to defeat Sho.

I’m not one to bet heavy favourites. I generally have a threshold of 1.70 where that is the lowest i will bet.

However if you are looking to bet them, I rank them in terms of “confidence” from top to least confidence:

• Tomohoro Ishii to defeat Togi Makabe (The legend loses here)
• SANADA to defeat Sho.
• Hiromu Takahashi to defeat Toru Yano (Needs to keep the Naito dream alive)
• Okada to defeat Suzuki (Would love the upset, can’t see it)
• Ishimori to beat Kamemaru (I think this is a tough call actually)

For underdogs, I don’t hate Yoshinobu Kaemaru at 2.90 odds. I didn’t mentiion Tiachi vs Kota Ibushi above because I advise a 1/4u bet of Taichi to defeat Ibushi. 2.25 odds there and the only underdog I really like.

For tournament winner I don’t know about Takahashi. I actually think there is money in Okada or SANADA.

I’d advise a 1/4 play on SANADA to win at 3.50 odds.
