Wrestlemania Backlash 2021 takes place this Sunday, May 16th 2021.
There are currently six matches scheduled for it and there are betting odds for all of them.
We’ve got Lashley defending the WWE Championship against Drew and Braun, and Roman Reigns defending the WWE Universal Championship against Cesaro.
Damian Priest also takes on The Miz in a lumberjack match which is the only non-title match on the card currently.
Let’s have a look at the betting odds before we get into the tips:
Bobby Lashley vs Drew McIntyre vs Braun Strowman: I just feel it would be a big, big surprise if Bobby Lashley lost. The time for Drew to win was at Wrestlemania. They didn’t go with that. Having Bobby lose here would just be plain stupid. Can’t put anything by WWE of course but I see no reason for him to lose here. No bet.
Bianca Belair vs Bayley: So Bayley hasn’t won a fight since February and she gets a title shot? Okay. Yeah no bet here.
Damian Priest vs The Miz: This is a tough one. You know my rule is “always bet on the Miz”. He is able to pull it off time and time again. However this should be his role – to put over Priest.
Priest has been protected very well. A 10-1 record in his recent 11 fights, and that loss was a handicap tag against JoMo & The Miz. Plus rumours of a breakup there. This is one time I cannot justify a bet on The Miz.
Rhea Ripley vs Charlotte vs Asuka: Are WWE going to right their wrong and have Charlotte win here? I mean you can’t have Asuka win surely she has been jobbing like crazy lately. It would be a big mistake to give up on Rhea so early, but we’ve seen it before. There’s enough value to bet 1/4u on Charlotte Flair although I expect Ripley to win with a pin over Asuka.
Roman Reigns vs Cesaro: If Cesaro was being booked very strong I would consider him here. However two DQ wins leading up to this show aren’t too strong. Reigns shouldn’t lose the title here. The booking hasn’t been strong enough to justify it.
Rey/Dominik vs Dirty Dawgs: I go back and forth on this one. I mean it’s a father and son duo first time winning it surely that is an appeal. With not too much on this card, it feels like a good time for them to win.
It would honestly not surprise me if Roode and Ziggler won but I can’t justify the bet on it.
Just the one small play on Charlotte here. Backlash isn’t a card known for upsets as I talked about on the podcast.
