The next big WWE event is Battleground and it is shaping up to be a decent card. While many people are simply waiting for WWE SummerSlam to hurry up and get here, this show has some intriguing matches and should turn out to be a pretty good show. The show is headlined by John Cena defending his WWE title in a match against Kane, Randy Orton and Roman Reigns. The result of that one seems pretty set in stone according to the bookmakers and I’d have to agree with them.
The undercard, however, is filled with interesting match-ups. The Usos are defending their titles against the Wyatt Family of Luke Harper and Erick Rowan in a match where they are actually the underdogs. Paige and AJ continue their blood feud, Chris Jericho faces Bray Wyatt and Dean Ambrose looks to finally get his hands on his former Shield partner Seth Rollins. There is also a battle royale for the vacant Intercontinental title that Cesaro is favored to win.
One match that really stands out for me is the Rusev vs. Jack Swagger match where Rusev is a large favorite. Also in this category is the Naomi vs. Cameron match-up where Naomi is an overwhelming favorite which is weird to me because this match between Total Divas could really go either way.

Definitely some interesting odds for this one and some great opportunities to make money. Let’s take a closer look and analyze the lines for maximum betting profit.
Naomi (-750) vs Cameron (+450): To me, this match could go either way. Neitther girl is in the midst of a big push or looks to have a big storyline going forward so I’m not quite sure why this line is uneven. This is clearly a match designed for use on the Total Divas television show and the outcome doesn’t really matter. In a coin flip match like this, I always go with the underdog. Especially when the underdog is at such a great price. Bet Cameron in the war of the Funkadactyls.
Wyatt family (-400) vs Usos (+280): The Wyatt Family seems long overdue for a tag team title run and the bookmakers seem to agree with this line. However, I just don’t see it. The Usos are the franchise players of the tag team division and a long reign is just what they need to solidify themselves as an elite tag team. The two-out-of-three falls stipulation favors them too as it would be weird to see a great team like the Usos lose twice in one night. Bet the Usos.
AJ (-1500) vs. Paige (+700): So Paige debuted as a surprise opponent against AJ and won the title then AJ disappeared. Now AJ returns and gets a surprise win over Paige to win the title and now they rematch. Based on that synopsis you would think that this could be a pretty even match, right? I’m tempted to go with the underdog here again, but this just seems like a step into something bigger for these two at SummerSlam. I expect AJ to retain.
Rusev (-400) vs Jack Swagger (+600): Whatever happened to the good old days when the USA guy would defeat the evil Russian? That’s definitely not happening here. Rusev in a walk.
Dean Ambrose (-190) vs. Seth Rollins (+150): This war between former Shield members could be the hottest feud of the summer and it’s hard to see Dean Ambrose getting the big win here after his partner JUST joined the Authority. Give me Seth Rollins to set up something bigger at SummerSlam. Bet Seth Rollins.
Bray Wyatt (-1200) vs. Chris Jericho (+600): It’s really hard for me to make an argument for Chris Jericho here. It seems like since he came back his sole job is to make younger wrestler looks good and this match against Bray Wyatt looks to further prove that theory. Stay away from this one.
Cesaro Wins Battle Royal (-170) vs. Field Wins Battle Royal (+130): I love Cesaro as much as the next guy, but there are 19 other wrestlers in this match which makes the odds for this one a bit strange. If there were multiple singles wrestlers with odds I might choose Cesaro, but I think I’ll take the other 19 guys over the one. Even if the one is really cool and strong. Bet the field.
John Cena (-2000) vs. Kane, Randy Orton & Roman Reigns (field +1000): Again, it’s hard to make an argument for anyone not named John Cena to win this one. Reigns isn’t ready quite yet, nobody likes Kane and Randy Orton just had the title. Cena is winning this one.
We like a lot of underdogs in this one so our return on investment is higher than usual if our winners come in. Place the following bets on WWE Batlleground 2014:
