WWE has its Clash of Champions 2020 event this weekend.
It features – what else – all championship matches. The main event is a combination of Drew McIntyre versus Randy Orton in an Ambulance Match for the WWE Championship, and Roman Reigns defending his WWE Universal Championship against Jey Uso.
We’ve got evrey title on the roster pretty much being defended and it should be an intriguing event to see what championships change hands.
Last year saw both male tag team titles change hands. 2017 saw the US Championship change hands as well.
Betting upset wise, The Revival winning in 2019 was a +160 upset. Erick Rowan was a +180 upset. In 2017 Dolph winning was a massive upset.
Jeff Hardy (+125) vs Sami Zayn (+167) vs AJ Styles (+180): I mean the big story in this one is that Sami never actually lost the title. It makes complete sense for Jeff to win here I’d say and then Sami can continue his complaining about that. Plus its Jeffs style of match and Sami can use that to support his argument. Especially with Jeff being the one to issue the challenge. I’m good with 1/2u on Jeff Hardy to win.
Street Profits (-150) vs Andrade/Garza (+108): Andrade and Garza just seem to have been thrown in there at the last moment. They split up and now they are back together? Ok? Unless it’s WWE pulling off some sort of amazing swerve I’m good with 1u on Street Profits to win.
Asuka (-1430) vs Zelina Vega (+600): Asuka should win I expect. No bet. I do hear Vince likes Zelina and I mean he could totally have her beat Asuka. I can’t bet it myself but I can see the logic.
Cesaro & Nakamura (-278) vs Lucha House Party (+190): I’d be surprised if Lucha House Party win this one. I assume they will go with champions vs champions at Survivor Series and that would wotk better with Cesaro and Nakamura. Odds are too heavy to make a bet.
Bayley (-455) vs Nikki Cross (+280): There’s the slight possibility of an upset here as Sasha Banks could cause Bayley to lose her title. In saying that, Sasha vs Bayley should totally be for the champion so it’s the case of whether or not they want to do a quick hotshot or not. It’s tempting to bet the upset here but I can’t see it. Just seems to be a match because “we have to have all belts on the line”.
Bobby Lashley (-1000) vs Apollo Crews (+500): Would be a surprise if Lashley lost. No bet.
Roman Reigns (-3335) vs Jey Uso (+800): So what do they do here? Do they have a classic match to show how good a worker Roman is? Or do they stick with his character? I was tempted by this match going under 12 minutes which is a bet but it’s -177 now and so no bet there for me.
Drew McIntyre (-200) vs Randy Orton (+140): I mean Dave Meltzer did a big write-up in the Wrestling Observer this week about why this match can work for Drew losing the belt. I agree with it and at that price hell yeah – 1/2u on Randy Orton to win. Well worth it and that is solid value.
Shayna Baszler / Nia Jax (-278) vs The Riott Squad (+190): WWE.com doesn’t even have a preview for this one which says it all. I don’t know – I think Riott Squad should win the titles and this would be a good spot to do so. The fact that they put their tag team careers on the line against The Ilconics says it all. I’m good with 1/4u on the Riott Squad.
