It’s finally here, one of the best events on the WWE calendar, it’s the Royal Rumble. Each year the Royal Rumble match is one of the highlights of the year and it’s winner directly impacts Wrestlemania. This year is especially special because it features the in-ring return of The Rock as he faces CM Punk for the WWE title. CM Punk is setting records for his title reign that is now well over a year. The Rock will be his biggest challenge to date and this should be an awesome event.
The other main story of the show is, of course, the Royal Rumble match that John Cena is expected to win. The story of the entire year has been John Cena trying to find redemption after his loss to The Rock so his winning and The Rock winning has felt like the plan for months. The odds reflect this, but not in as extreme of a way as you might expect.
There are currently only two matches announced for the undercard. The Rhodes Scholars get a title shot at Team Hell No where they are huge favorites and Alberto Del Rio faces Big Show for the World Heavyweight title. Make no mistake about it though, these two matches are just the appetizers for the main event.

Royal Rumble match: John Cena win the Royal Rumble (-175) / Anyone else wins the Royal Rumble (+140): As you can tell the story of this match is all about John Cena and it’s not hard to blame them. Just looking at the list of competitors outside of John Cena and it’s hard to find someone who would seem worthy. Ryback, maybe? No, this one is all about John Cena and at a mere -175 I’ll take it. Easy bet on John Cena.
The Rhodes Scholars (-1200) vs Team Hell No (+600): Looks like the bookmakers think that Rhodes Scholars are a shoo-in to win the tag titles here, but I just don’t see it. Team Hell No has been teasing dissension, but that’s kinda their thing. They don’t get along, but are still a great tag team. I think they win here. They’ve done such a great job delivering excellent segments all year that they’ve earned the right to defend their titles on the biggest show of the year.Bet Team Hell No
Alberto Del Rio (-1850) vs. Big Show (+900): Sometimes the betting odds make the winner seem obvious and no amount of analyzing can change that. This is that kind of match.
The Rock (-600) vs CM Punk (+400): The Rock has been away from WWE since last year’s Wrestlemania while CM Punk has been champion for that entire period of time. The Rock could be rusty in the ring, but that won’t be the story told here. He’s the “most electrifying man” and he’s “still got it” and he’s probably winning the title. Skip it.
A four match show (as of now) doesn’t give us much to work with, but the odds offered are fair enough for us to make some money. It might not be fun to bet on John Cena, but it can be profitable.
