The WWE Royal Rumble 2022 will be taking place on Saturday, January 29th, 2022.
Due to the NFL playoffs, it will not be taking place on Sunday like it normally does.
It’s hailing from St. Louis and is quite the stacked card.
We’ve got Roman Reigns defending his title against Seth Rollins, and Brock Lesnar defending his title against Bobby Lashley, along with both Royal Rumble’s.
We’ve also got rumours of Ronda Rousey returning. Let’s look at the odds:
And now for the odds:
Odds Last Updated: January 29th, 2022
World Title Situation: So we have two matches – Reigns vs Rollins, Brock vs Lashley. The theory is that they are going with Reigns vs Brock at Mania. If we follow the money, people are expecting Brock to lose to Lashley, and then win the Royal Rumble. If you have ever looked at my Royal Rumble Betting Upsets article then you know that following the money is the way to go.
In saying that – it’s very hard to see either Roman or Brock losing. Also if we look at original plans – Rollins vs Big E was the intended match at Wrestlemania. How do they go back to that if Lashley is the champion? I think it’s a case of picking a booking scenario that you like and then placing bets based on that.
In regards to this one – Bobby Lashley is probably the best bet but at +120 odds, it’s not worth betting. I’m just not 100% convinced though and I’m not going to advise anything for this.
Men’s Royal Rumble: I am going to be doing a 1/4u bet on Big E to win at +600 odds. He is the third favourite. I am very concerned that the WWE will have given up on him, but at that price I think he is worth a bet. The idea of a Big E vs Bobby Lashley match as one of the Mania headliners is great in terms of diversity. He can also slot in with Rollins OR Lashley. I should note if you wish to “follow the money”, AJ Styles might be worth a punt at +500 odds for a 1/4u bet as well.
I said earlier in the week to bet Johnny Knoxville Under 15.5 for entry number. That one has dropped to -200 but you can see that and other props at non-US Sportsbook (Americans: Bet at BetOnline).
Women’s Royal Rumble: I said it earlier this week but if you are to bet Ronda Rousey, bet her at BetOnline. They will refund if she doesn’t participate. If she participates, she’s winning. I mentioned on the podcast to bet Asuka. That was a 1/4u bet at +1800 odds and was at BetOnline. She’s +1100 there now it’s your call if you wish to bet it or not.
At non-US Sportsbook (Americans: Bet at BetOnline) I advise a 1/2u bet on Bianca Belair to make the most eliminations at +250. With Ronda coming back she’s getting the short end of the stick here – it’s possible they pivot her to Charlotte but either way, they want her to look strong.
Other Matches: You know I LOVE to bet on The Miz. I really do. But it’s really hard to see it here. It feels like this feud has to be coming to a head and they have kept Edge & Phoenix strong. No bet for me here.
And no bet in Becky vs Doudrop either.
